Your personal information
castelroc.com presents a project in development. It collects as little information as possible, only to answer you, and never sells it.
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Who is responsible
The site is operated by IN6, the person in charge of protecting personal information for the Castel Roc project. For any question or request: castelroc@probablink.com.
What we collect, and why
- Express my interest: your name, your email, what draws you, your message and, if you attach one, the summary of a layout. Only to answer you and get back in touch about your interest. Your missive goes from your browser to our host, which records with it your internet address, your browser and the page it was sent from.
- Guestbook: your first name, region and message, published as written on the “The story” page (some messages are reviewed before they appear); your optional email is never published and is only used to reply to you. Each message, with your email if you give it, is also passed on to the person in charge, as a notice and a copy, among our host’s form submissions.
- To limit abuse of the guestbook (and attempts at its moderation key), an encrypted fingerprint of your internet address, made with a secret specific to the site, is kept while the posting frequency is checked; the address itself is never stored by the guestbook.
- My projects and your settings (sound, display quality) stay in your browser, on your device: nothing is sent unless you attach a project to a message.
What we do not do
No advertising cookies, no audience measurement, no newsletter and no marketing emails. Your information is never sold, rented or transferred.
Where your information is
The site, its forms and the guestbook are hosted by Netlify, whose servers are located in particular in the United States: expressions of interest and the copies of guestbook messages are kept among its form submissions, the messages themselves in its storage. Netlify runs every form submission through its spam filter (Akismet). Our replies go through our email provider.
The village weather comes from Open-Meteo, which our server queries itself: your address is not passed on to it.
How long
- Expressions of interest: deleted at the latest 24 months after the last exchange, along with the internet address and browser recorded by the host.
- Guestbook: messages are kept until they are removed, simply on request; only the 40 most recent are shown and, beyond the latest 300, the older ones are archived. A removed message is also deleted from its copy among the form submissions. Emails attached to a message, kept only in that copy, are deleted at the latest 12 months later.
- If the copy of a message cannot be passed on right away, it waits, with the email, in the guestbook storage until it is sent again: seven days at most.
- Guestbook address fingerprint: erased once the day of checking has passed (the hour, for key attempts), at the latest within the following hour.
Your rights
You may ask to see your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to remove a guestbook message or to withdraw your consent: write to castelroc@probablink.com. We answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
