## What are you looking for in Castel Roc?

### I’d like to live there

A primary or secondary residence: houses of various sizes, and homes above the shops.

See the houses

### I’d like to work there

Shops and artisan workshops, a tavern and an inn to bring to life; farms, the mill and the woodcutters’ hut to take over; towers for care, crafts and activities.

### I’d like to stay there

A day’s visit or a few nights at the inn: the market, meals at the tavern, evening gatherings.

Crossing the threshold

## Leave your century in the parking lot

1. Leave your devices — The car stays in the parking lot, on the far side of the forest; phones and screens stay safely in the Threshold House cloakroom.
2. Change your clothes — The wardrobe lends period clothing, in linen and wool. Or bring your own, if they suit the period.
3. Walk in — Past the gateway, a trail crosses the forest, then the fields, and goes over the stream to the village gate. Beyond it, public life goes on with no visible technology.

Inside private homes, the place of technology is still to be defined with future residents: no rule has been set to date.

Daily life

## Finding time again

Days shaped by handwork, the market, shared meals and evenings by the fire.

- ![In the forge, the blacksmith shows the anvil to a young apprentice](https://castelroc.com/images/vie-metiers.webp) — The trades — The forge, woodworking, pottery, weaving: skills that are practised and passed on.
- ![The market square: the well, the stalls, the baker outside his shop and children running on the cobblestones](https://castelroc.com/images/vie-marche.webp) — The market — Around the well and the great linden tree, the stalls of growers and craftspeople.
- ![A long table at the tavern: villagers on wooden benches, by the fireplace](https://castelroc.com/images/vie-repas.webp) — The meals — At the tavern or the inn, long tables where people take their time.
- ![An evening by the fire: a grandfather tells a story to two children](https://castelroc.com/images/vie-veillees.webp) — The evenings — The fire in the hearth, the spinning wheel, the stories: evenings are spent together.

Beyond the walls

## A countryside that keeps the village alive

- The farms — A sheepfold, a dairy farm and a great barn, with their pastures, hens and haystacks.
- The fields and the mill — Wheat, barley, oats, vegetables and hay meadows in long strips, and a windmill in the middle of the fields.
- The forest and the woodcutters — At the edge of the woods, the log cabin, stacks of firewood and the charcoal burner’s mound.

Who is it for?

## A place for everyone

- Craftspeople — A workshop on the street, and customers who take the time to appreciate work well done.
- Those looking for a community — Neighbours you know, shared tasks, a place in a living village.
- Those who want to slow down — When everything speeds up, finding a human pace again, simple gestures and conversations without screens.
